An Earth Day Article: Coveting that Thneed?

Watch entire The Lorax video on Google Video

Coveting the Thneed that you saw on sale for $9.99? It's the only one on the rack and in the perfect shade of pink. It was made in the factory built by Once-lers and it came from the very last Truffula Tree of them all!

Beware if you buy it! It may change your life! It comes with the last of the Truffula Seeds. Everyone needs Truffula Trees so you must plant it and treat it with care. Give it clean water and lots of fresh air. Allow it to grow into a forest then protect it from axes...protect so the Lorax and his friends can come back.

The children's book called The Lorax was written by Dr. Seuss and first published in 1971. The Lorax is the authoritarian character who speaks up to save the Truffula Trees from the greedy Once-ler who cares only about making money. The Lorax has become a metaphor for environmentalists who want to make us aware of the hazards of over industrialization in our society. The Lorax is also a great way to teach our children about Earth Day (April 22) and the importance of environmental conservation.

As Dr. Seuss said:

UNLESS someone like you

cares a whole awful lot,

nothing is going to get better.

It's not.
